What is CrossFit?
The aim of CrossFit is to forge a broad, general and inclusive fitness. We have sought to build a program that will best prepare trainees for any physical contingency — not only for the unknown, but for the unknowable. After looking at all sport and physical tasks collectively, we asked what physical skills and adaptations would most universally lend themselves to performance advantage. Capacity culled from the intersection of all sports demands would quite logically lend itself well to all sport. In sum, our specialty is not specializing. [courtesy of www.CrossFit.com].

Is CrossFit safe? I heard it causes many injuries...
Saying that it’s impossible to get injured doing CrossFit is unrealistic. Just like any other sport of physical training program, injuries might occur during exercising. However, the statement that CrossFit directly leads to injury is wrong. Does CrossFit make girls bulk up and look manly?
It’s true that CrossFit develops muscles in the female and male body. However, saying that CrossFit makes a woman look manly is false. First, women do not have the necessary testosterone levels to put on a large amount of muscle mass. Secondly, the women you are envisioning, who are huge follow very strict diets and life styles in order for them to develop the muscle mass necessary to look like they do! So, unless you are supplementing, eating and sleeping like a bodybuilder, it is highly unlikely you will bulk up and look 'manly'. In fact, weightlifting and CrossFit have been shown to increase weight loss, and give women a tighter, leaner, and more toned body.
